Where does time go?
Alarms, passwords, security cameras, and locks; we go to such great lengths to protect our “stuff” but neglect the theft of our time. There are tiny thieves all around that plunder our precious time. TV, Video Games, Internet (Myspace, Facebook, Poker, Miniclip, You Tube….and so much more). Now don’t get me wrong I am not saying that any of these things are “wrong”, but what I am saying is that if you honestly assessed how much time you spend doing each of these things in a day and then compared that to how much you read your bible, or prayed, or even just talked to God that you would find a very unbalanced scale. I also want to point out that I would not be writing this if I had not seen these patterns in my own life.
The bible says in Hebrews that “…He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” and the devil knows this better than anyone. His sole purpose then is to distract powerful Christians from the call of God on their lives. Think of the things that may be different in your life if you cut your TV time in half and spend that time reading His word. What could you glean from the Bible if you read it for a just a half hour a day? Think about how powerful your prayer life would be if you got up 15 minutes earlier than you normally do and spent that time in prayer. Believe me, I know how hard it is and I am speaking to myself just as much as you; I have 4 kids, I work full time, and my wife and I are the youth leaders at our church, but because I believe 2 chronicles 7:14 with all my heart I am going to make a pact with anyone that wants to take this challenge with me. I dare you…..
I will get up just 15 minutes early every day and spend it in conversation with God
I will read my Bible for at least ½ hour per day, every day
I will actively seek out someone to give a home bible study
I will write in my spiritual journal every day

That is awsome, and those daily goals are very easy to reach. While we my stumble, thoses 4 simple things make it easy to get back on the path. I sometimes think that new converts get burnt out trying to reach the mountain top before finding a path.
Ephesians 5:16
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
